Why Costa Rica

These are some important reasons why

1

The People

Costa Ricans are kind and well-educated people. Learning and development have become fundamental in the construction of the society since 1870 when education became free and mandatory. Costa Rica has one of the highest literacy rates (more than nine-tenths) in the Western Hemisphere and a solid educational system from the primary grades through the university level. Several renowned universities and an active network of bookstores and publishing houses tend to make San José the nucleus of intellectual life in Central America.
Ticos are generally proud of their political freedoms and their relatively stable economy.

2

The goverment

Costa Rica is proud of its over 120 years of solid democracy with economic and political stability, Costa Rica is no doubt the best country for investment in Central America and one of the best options in Latin America.

3

A country of Peace

Costa Rica made Peace its flag when in 1949 the army was abolished, and the funds directed to health and education. As President José Figueres Ferrer declared, “I don’t want an army of soldiers, but an army of educators, ” Costa Rica understood that the only way to solve controversy is through dialog and took the road of diplomacy to handle international situations. Because of the country’s peaceful reputation and its commitment to human rights, several nongovernmental organizations and pro-democracy foundations have their headquarters in San José.

4

The location

Costa Rica is located in the lower part of Central America; its Southern border neighbor is Panamá. Its location sets the country as a hub to connect the Americas, allowing commerce to flow from South to Central and North America. The location, together with qualified and highly talented workforce and the country’s political and economic stability has turned Costa Rica into a place chosen by many multinational companies to settle their headquarters for the region.

5

Health

As well as a good public education system, Costa Rica holds one of the best Health Care Systems in the world, being recently ranked as the 3rd best system only behind Spain´s and Colombia’s, and San José’s Children’s Hospital is ranked as one of the best in the world.
Nowadays in the turmoil the pandemic has placed the whole world in, Costa Rica has outstood as an example in the handling of the sanitary crisis caused by the Covid-19.

6

Climate

Despite its small size, Costa Rica has more than 3500 microclimates mostly in the tropical range. There are 2 well-defined seasons: the dry season between December-May and the Rainy Season that starts in late May and extends through November being the last part the rainiest season. Nevetheless, the average temperature is 24ºC, which makes it a lovely condition to live especially in the Central Valley. If you love a hotter weather, just head to the beach area and if you prefer a cooler temperature, the many high mountain areas will definitely give you what you want.

7

Environment Friendly

It is no surprise that Costa Rica is referred to as ‘the living Eden’. Having an estimated 5% of the world’s biodiversity, with over 615 wildlife species per 10,000 sq km, Costa Rica sits at the top of the list as the most bio-diverse region of the world. But this happened not just out of good luck. In an effort to preserve much of Costa Rica’s natural beauty and surroundings, 25% of the country’s land has been set aside and turned into protective parks and reserves so as to safeguard the beautiful and lush environments from deforestation and logging. Furthermore more in 2013, the Minister of Environment led a movement to “reinforce the idea of interacting with biodiversity in botanical parks in a natural way.” The idea was that no animal would be in captivity, unless it was being rescued or saved. Since then rehabilitation centers have sprung up across the country, nurturing a variety of animals (from anteaters to sloths to jaguars) back to health and releasing them into the wild whenever it was still possible.  Even more, the country runs mostly on green electricity and the present government is focused in becoming carbon neutral in 2021.
